SUMMARY:Breakwater Clean-Up
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a meaningful day of conservation as we help clean up the habitat of our beloved St Kilda Little Penguin colony! \nRemoving rubbish is crucial – plastic waste can be ingested by penguins causing serious health issues\, while debris used in nest-building can prevent proper insulation\, leaving eggs dangerously cold and wet. \n======================================== \n𝐑𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧: ESSENTIAL – click the link below. No registration means no entry to the breakwater on the day. Once registered via the link you will receive a confirmation email that includes the exact meeting point\, time\, and other important information. \nTime: 10am – 12pm \n𝐏𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐞: All our events are free. If someone offers to sell you a ticket please decline and report. \nAll equipment is provided.  \n======================================== \n𝐸𝑣𝑒𝑟𝑦 𝑝𝑖𝑒𝑐𝑒 𝑜𝑓 𝑟𝑢𝑏𝑏𝑖𝑠ℎ 𝑐𝑜𝑙𝑙𝑒𝑐𝑡𝑒𝑑 ℎ𝑒𝑙𝑝𝑠 𝑐𝑟𝑒𝑎𝑡𝑒 𝑎 𝑠𝑎𝑓𝑒𝑟\, 𝑐𝑙𝑒𝑎𝑛𝑒𝑟 𝑒𝑛𝑣𝑖𝑟𝑜𝑛𝑚𝑒𝑛𝑡 𝑓𝑜𝑟 𝑜𝑢𝑟 𝑝𝑒𝑛𝑔𝑢𝑖𝑛𝑠. For the incursion\, we ask that parents do not remain in the room due to capacity limits.\nAll sessions are fully supervised by Earthcare St Kilda staff and trained volunteers with Working with Children’s Check’s\, ensuring a safe and supportive environment for every child.\nThe excursion is not a guaranteed opportunity to see Little Penguins. While there is a chance of spotting one\, sightings are rare during the day. If you’re interested in seeing Little Penguins at night\, you can book a free guided tour here: https://bookings.penguins.org.au/BookingCat/Availability/?ParentCategory=STKD\nFurther details — including meeting points\, what to bring\, and what to expect — will be provided upon booking.\nFor any questions contact\, tia@earthcarestkilda.org.au\n\n  \n \n
