St Kilda Breakwater Set Aside

We are pleased to announce that Parks Victoria has declared that following prohibitions have been put in place under the Port Management (Local Ports) Regulations 2015 on St Kilda Breakwater:

1. To prohibit people accompanied by or in control of dogs or cats from accessing any part of Breakwater, at any time.
2. To prohibit public access to the northern section of the Breakwater, beyond the locked gate, at any time.
3. To prohibit public access to the rocks on the Breakwater, at any time.

This enables enforcement agencies to enforce these rules and potentially fine people found in violation.

Earthcare St Kilda has been working with Parks Victoria to get this additional legal protection for the St Kilda Little Penguin colony put in place.
